Kitchen sinks are the most important component of all kitchens. Sinks are available in many different types, shapes and sizes, materials and colours. Sinks are manufactured from stainless steel, porcelain and composite materials. Sinks come in a range of bowl configurations including single, 1 ½ , 1 ¾, double bowl. sinks can be mounted on the top of a bench ( top mounted or drop-in ) or under mounted.
Specialised sinks include;-
• Bar sinks which are smaller and well suited to use in commercial and domestic bars and other small washing areas
• Alfresco sink for outdoor entertaining areas and are commonly made from 316 grade Stainless Steel
• Farmhouse sinks, also called Butler sinks, Provincial sinks or Apron sinks. These are commonly made from fireclay and are suited to Provincial, Federation, Country Cottage or Hampton style kitchens
• Coloured sinks are available in composite materials and are generally scratch resistant and coloured through the whole material. Stainless steel sinks are also available in PVD finished colours or nan-finishes.
